molibso and LED Linear™: Treadmill measurement redefined with state-of-the-art LED technology

With dyneos, molibso offers its customers a measuring system that can virtually look under the foot of a natural gait. The long pressure measuring plate offers enough surface for a natural gait and precisely records the rolling behaviour of the feet. Thus molibso offers a clear added value compared to providers who, for example, take static measurements or only work camera-based. In 2015, shortly after founding the company, the founders, Lars and Jens Hollenbacher, came across LED Linear's LED installations during a visit to the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen. Here they recognised the importance of effectively supporting the later dyneos workflow with lighting. As the product development was not yet completed at that time, after a visit to the LED Linear™ production facility in autumn 2015, they decided to adapt the technical design to install optional LED light lines on both sides along the aisle of the molibso dyneos. This includes specially developed aluminium profiles that securely integrate the pressure measurement technology but also the LED light lines and present them as a harmonious whole. Control via a microcontroller also enables visual demarcation of the pressure measurement plate from the sales area and customer control during measurement. Many customers already rely on LED Linear's light lines, including the largest customer to date, Sportsmans Warehouse in South Africa.

The next step is now obvious: combine molibso dyneos, LED lighting technology and shopfitting to offer end customers a completely new, convincing and changing ambience. In the "lighthouse project of orthopaedic technology" (future installation Sanitätshaus Vital in Hilden), two 2-metre-long measuring plates are now installed flush with the floor for the first time and combined to form a four-metre-long measuring section – framed by RGB LED Linear™ lighting technology. The aim here is to provide both convincing ambient lighting and visual accompaniment to the measurement. In addition to displaying basic information such as the start and end of the measurement, the end customer should be subtly guided to the appropriate product. Thus, the modern lighting technology underlines the innovative concepts in the aisle laboratory. 

Thanks to the up to 5 m long light lines from the VENUS product family, the illuminated measuring sections can be easily realized. The VENUS Top View version with white light colour in 2 m length was chosen for integration in the pressure measurement plates.

In general, the VENUS products are opal encapsulated, protected, flexible LED design light lines with a cross-section of 16 mm x 15 mm (Top View, bending direction vertical) or 10 mm x 20.5 mm (Side View, bending direction horizontal). Depending on the version, they are available in lengths of a multiple of 62.5 mm or 125 mm. With a lifetime up to 60,000 hours, they offer glare-free LED light, a luminous flux of up to 1,330 lm/m and a colour rendering of an Ra value of up to 95. These products are available in the light colours white, RGB and dynamic white. 

VENUS is suitable for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications – from furniture construction to façade lighting. Easy installation, high flexibility and resistance in harsh climatic conditions (e. g. against salt water, UV radiation and solvents) are further outstanding product advantages.
